Review – Burberry Complete Eye Palette in Plum Pink No.06
I know…lots of ‘firsts’ these days. It’s a phase i tell you. I was trying my best to convince myself i didn’t need all these new goodies, but i guess you know by now i’m not so good at saying no to myself. Lol! So here we have the Burberry Complete Eye Palette in Plum Pink!
The palette comes complete with a velvet pouch, along with 3 mini applicators. (not photographed here) I definitely prefer using my own brushes, so i’ve left them untouched till now. Just like its Light Glow and Sheer Powder, the packaging incorporates a magnetic closure. A feature i definitely appreciate
Let’s take a closer look.
Product Description: (Taken from the Burberry website)
- A quartet of densely pigmented, coordinating eye colours that enrich the skin and remain vibrant all day
- The formulation of each shadow has been customised to give a targeted texture for a specific use: luminising base highlighter, two medium colours to add shape, and an intense liner
- The skin protecting, glide-on formula is blended with satin smooth silicones and enriching conditioners
This swatch was photographed against direct sunlight.

My thoughts:
With the exception of my Sleek eyeshadow palettes and the crazy colors, most of the other eye palettes in my stash are mainly neutral. This is no exception, i need colors which are wearable, versatile and work-friendly. Do you have in mind the same criteria when shopping for a quality eye palette? However, this is a little different from what i already own – the plum shade is what sealed the deal for me. In terms of quality, Burberry has not disappointed me. These eyeshadows are soft and smooth. So easy to apply, it glides on your lids like a dream and so easy to blend. No fall outs! Absolutely S$85 well spent. I can’t wait to do a proper FOTD with this eye palette soon.

Review – Burberry Light Glow in Coral Pink No.09
My first Burberry Light Glow Blush from their Spring/Summer’13 Collection! This is yet another product that i told myself i need at least ONE!!
Whoops, can you tell i’ve been over-indulging lately?!?! Lucky thing i got it when they were having the 12% rebate at Tangs some weeks ago.
Product Description: (Taken from the Burberry website)
- A lightweight blush that gives the skin a bright fresh glow
- Burberry Light Glow contains silicones for effortless and even application and wild rose extract for moisturising benefits
- The complexion glows with natural looking radiance
- Apply to the hollow of the cheeks to slim the face or apply to the cheek bone to highlight
I’m happy just looking at it… so pretty… and i love the embossed trench pattern. It took me a while to actually start using it, cos i just didn’t want to ruin the pattern. LOL!
My thoughts:
What i really like about the packaging is the magnetic closure, it is definitely one factor that sets it apart from blushers of other brands. The texture of this blush is super soft and finely-milled. It applies smoothly like a dream! Do not be fooled by the name ‘Light Glow’! With a matte finish, this dark pink blush is more than decently pigmented. It also has pretty good lasting power, lasting up to 8 hours or so. It gives you a nice healthy flush on the cheeks, and the quality is IMHO, outstanding. It is well worth its S$61. I didn’t really see the point of getting this and Hydrangea Pink which is the other blush from this Spring Collection. They appear to be kind of similar, just that this is a warmer shade and the Hydrangea Pink is more cool-toned.

Review – Burberry Sheer Foundation Trench No.04
Hi everyone, today’s review is a foundation from Burberry – the Sheer Foundation Trench No.04. I purchased this from Tangs recently, it retails for S$75 (30ml) if i remember correctly. This is one product i’ve been thinking about for some time now, but i just couldn’t find an excuse to get yet another foundation. ;p
The packaging looks and feels very luxurious. The metal cap is embossed with the signature Burberry trench, and it feels heavy. The range of cosmetic products from Burberry all bear this signature design in some form or another. The overall style is very chic and understated – definitely looks beautiful on any dressing table. If you are someone who appreciates beautifully designed products, you will love their cosmetics range.
Beneath that beautiful metal cap, you will find a pump dispenser. Great for controlling the amount of product you need. Burberry has also thoughtfully gone one step further with a twist lock on the pump.
As can you see from the swatch above, this foundation has a very creamy texture, it’s not exactly thick though. When you think sheer, one might expect a watery consistency for such a foundation. A little goes a long way, but it is indeed sheer. It’s extremely easy to apply and blend, and you will find that it helps to give your face an even uniform color – erases blotchiness and redness on the skin. The coverage is buildable, if you need some extra coverage on areas of your face that are dull due to pigmentation etc. However, if you have acne scars or other stubborn blemishes, you will probably need a tiny bit of concealer on top of the foundation.
I like the feel and finish of this foundation. It is so light and comfortable as well as hydrating, you feel like you’re hardly wearing any foundation. You get a nice healthy glow, with a somewhat smooth, dewy finish. I set my foundation with some Burberry Sheer Powder (not photographed here, but believe me the packaging is equally beautiful if not more), and my base is all set to go. My foundation lasts for a good 8 hours and i don’t turn into an oil tank. ( i blot with a tissue twice maybe through the 8-9 hours).
Here i have a FOTD where i’ve used the Burberry Sheer Foundation and Powder. It is a simple look that i did for a lunch appointment over the weekend. Very natural day look, perfect for work days too. For the eyes, i used ‘Sidecar’ from the Urban Decay Naked Palette all over the lid and did a simple smokey eye. And I followed that with ‘Virgin’ from the same palette on the the browbone and finished with some black eyeliner (applied very thinly) for some subtle definition.
In this FOTD, i’ve also used a new lipstick which i got during a recent Shiseido haul from the Maquillage range. I love love love the color and texture. In the bullet, it’s a very natural rosy pink with some shimmer in it. It compliments many natural makeup looks, and helps to keep my lips moisturized and looking good.
Here’s a swatch of the lip color on the back of my hand.
And here’s a close-up look at my lips. It looks kinda different on my lips because my lips are pigmented. I like that it is ‘my lips but better’!
Thanks for looking!
