Review – Neutrogena Hydra Boost Night Concentrate
This is one of the latest products from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range, and i am happy to provide a review here today. Are any of you familiar with the Laneige Water Sleeping Pack? If you’ve heard of it or tried it before, then this Neutrogena product is definitely no stranger. Read on to find out more about this product 🙂
So what is this product all about? Is it a cream? A mask? A serum? Well, let’s see…
To put it simply, the Hydro Boost Night Concentrate is actually an overnight gel mask. It’s specially formulated with Neutrogena’s smart Progressive Release System, which actively seeks out dry skin cells to replenish moisture in them throughout the night while you are sleeping. Sounds good and easy enough to use right? There’s more…
As your skin cells renew at night, the Hyaluronic Acid, Olive Extract and Ionic Mineral Complex help to make the most out of the cell regeneration process, thereby boosting the skin’s renewal capacity so that you can wake up to amazingly hydrated, soft and supple skin in the morning.
It’s really simple and convenient to use. Before you go to bed, simply massage the product evenly over your face and neck after your regular moisturizer and rinse off the next morning. The recommended use is twice a week, but accordingly to Neutrogena it is safe and completely fine to use it everyday if you wish to.
Here are more pictures of the product i’d like to share with you.
As you can see, it has the texture of a water-based gel. It is really easy to apply and massage into the skin. Do you see the blue micro beads above? That’s actually part of the Progressive Release System, whereby the product releases intensive moisture throughout the night. It slowly disappears as you apply it over your face and neck. It feels a little sticky after application, but since I’m just going to bed that doesn’t really bother me. Also, i personally use it without a moisturizer before. I think it works fine either way.
This product is especially great for people who sleep in air conditioned environments where the air is dry and harsh to your skin. Also, it is much more convenient to use as compared to a sheet mask or a clay mask. Sometimes, at the end of a work day I’m so dead tired that i just want to quickly slap on whatever basic skincare i can find and get some shut eye. So really, this works for me and my lifestyle. I wake up to smooth and hydrated skin, and all i need to do is wash it off like how i normally would when i take my shower.
There were days where i was so tired that i just removed my make-up and went to bed without applying any moisturizer or skincare. I wake up the next morning to find myself with extremely dry skin. Well, that’s one thing but the worst part is when i apply my foundation in the morning and the dry peeling skin is made much more obvious and it looks terrible! What i’m trying to say is that well-hydrated skin is SO important to create a good base for your make-up. You can’t run away from it. Never go to bed without ensuring that your skin will be well moisturized as you sleep, no matter what product you choose to use.
Anyways, if i had to compare this with the highly-raved Laneige Water Sleeping Pack, i’d say that the results are similar. However, this is definitely more pocket-friendly. It costs S$25.90 and is available at all leading personal stores and pharmacies. This product is non-comedogenic, oil-free and dermatologist-tested – so it’s safe even if you have sensitive skin like i do. Go ahead, give it a try and see if you like it!
Thanks to Neutrogena and Cozycot for the opportunity to review this product.
