Review – Sulwhasoo Essential Firming Cream
Already using the Sulwhasoo First Care Serum, and thinking about adding the Essential Firming Cream to your skincare regime? Are you slowly coming to terms with your ageing skin and realising that you need to take better care of it now? It’s a real hit to the ego, but I kind of get the idea when SAs are subtly throwing recommendations from the anti-aging section my way. 🙂 Once you hit your 30s, a firming cream that helps provide a moisture boost and improves the elasticity of your skin is essential. Read on to find out what i think about the Sulwhasoo Essential Firming Cream.
Product Description: (Taken from the Sulwhasoo website)
Formulated with Korean Medicinal Herbs, this cream nourishes skin inside and out to restore healthy-looking skin and resilience.
- Adlay Millet detoxifies the skin while Pomegranate and Ginkgo Bibloba Leaf extract restore skin density and promote tighter-looking contours for aged, damaged sagging skin
- This firming and lifting cream spreads smoothly onto skin and has a perceptible instant firming effect on the skin.
How to use:
After applying eye cream in the morning and evening, take appropriate amount of the product and gently spread over face and neck in the direction of the skin texture.
After using a few Sulwhasoo skincare products, i’ve come to love that subtle herbal ginseng scent. It’s not overwhelming, so don’t worry. I like to think it even acts as a form of aromatherapy, helping to calm and relax the mind.
The cream is quite thick, and spreads easily over the face. With a pretty rich and emollient texture, a little goes a long way so don’t apply too much of it. Your face will end up looking greasy, and don’t you hate it when you face sticks to the pillow case? Lol! Beware – It does take a few minutes to absorb fully into your skin so have some patience, and if you’re up to it, gently massage it into your skin to aid absorption.
My skin tends to be rather dry, so what i do is i add a drop or 2 of my Clarins Santal Face Treatment Oil into my palm, mix it together with the Essential Firming Cream, before i start to apply it onto my face and neck area. You can use other facial oils or ampoules and mix it with the cream as well. Expect your skin to look a little greasy/shiny especially because of the oil, but just know that this will help prevent your skin from drying out. You’re in bed anyway! 🙂
Sleeping with air conditioning dries the skin, so this method helps keep my skin well-moisturised throughout the night. I wake up to soft, plump and supple skin. As i age, i realise that a normal moisturiser just doesn’t cut it anymore. I need something more rich to help keep my skin happy and healthy. You can use this in the day as well as night, but i prefer to only use it at night before i go to sleep.
This products retails for S$108 for a 75ml jar, and is available at the Sulwhasoo counter in Tangs department store. This jar will last you a good 4-5 months if you use it twice a day, and even longer if you choose to only use it as a night cream.
The Sulwhasoo Essential Firming Cream works well for my dry, sensitive skin so far, and i definitely recommend giving it a go!
